Performance Tuning
This is the work I’m called in for most: the system that has to work, now, and the team that’s already tried everything. I find the real bottleneck — not the symptom — using AWR/ASH analysis, execution-plan tuning, and wait-event tracing, and I fix it at the source.
Where I work:
- SQL and PL/SQL tuning — rewrites, indexing, and execution-plan correction
- Database-level root-cause analysis with AWR/ASH and wait-event tracing
- Application and code paths that are hammering the database
- Post-migration and post-upgrade performance that’s fallen off
Proof:
- An Oracle batch process taken from 8 hours per client to under 10 seconds
- A serial migration pipeline re-architected into parallel streaming — 12 hours to 3 hours across 5 production datasets
If the system has to work and there’s no room to get it wrong, this is the call.
